Rubber Tyred Container Gantry Crane

Rubber tyred container gantry crane is a type of mobile gantry crane used primarily for stacking and moving containers in container terminals, ports, and storage yards. Unlike rail-mounted gantry cranes, RTGs are equipped with rubber tires, allowing them to move freely within the yard.

The crane has a trolley that runs along the girders, equipped with a hoist that lifts and lowers containers. The trolley's movement allows for precise positioning of containers, which use a spreader to lift and handle containers. The spreader can adjust to different container sizes (e.g., 20-foot, 40-foot) and securely lock onto the container’s corners.
